Option A: Story Time: (Recommended Ages: 4-8 yrs old)

The story time event includes a brief author introduction, a brief presentation about judging people based on their appearance rather then getting to know them and how it can lead to bullying, followed by a reading of my book(s). I conclude the presentation with a Q&A and, if time permits, a brief activity that gives those in attendance an idea of what it is like to have only one leg.

Option B: School/Special Event Presentation: (Recommended Ages: 8-up)

“A Trip and a Fall” The Story of How I Lost My Leg -

This presentation takes those in attendance on a journey through my life prior to my accident and afterwards. During this presentation I talk about some of the obstacles I faced and what I endured both personally and professionally. This presentation has two goals, to show people that the decisions you make in the past can directly impact your future and also to show that, despite challenges, with a positive attitude you can overcome and accomplish your goals. Following the presentation, if time permits, I offer those in attendance a chance to participate in a Q&A session. This presentation is accompanied by a PowerPoint slideshow that allows those in attendance to see parts of my journey.

Option C: Creative Writing Presentation: (Recommended Ages: 12-up)

During this presentation, I explain how The Amazing Adventure of Superior Sam came to be. I explain my writing process, how I went about soliciting my book to publishers and agents, how the publishing process works and what to expect. I also offer advice on self-publishing and using crowd funding sites to help accomplish someone’s dream of becoming a writer. At the end of the presentation, I offer those in attendance the opportunity to participate in a Q&A.

 

• Estimated Time: 30 min-1 hr

• Cost: $50.00***

 

I do not require any book orders for any of the above events, however, if you would like to order books for an event please let me know when booking your event. I also sell books the day of the event for a special event price of $8.00 per book.

*** All costs are per day (maximum 8 hrs per day) and include 2 hrs drive time each way. Any event that requires me to drive further than 2 hrs each way, should contact me via email as there are additional cost(s) associated with the extra drive time (i.e. mileage, and hotel costs if necessary). Please do not let price be the determining factor in choosing whether or not to contact me. I am willing to work with schools and organizations on a caseby-case basis as to cost. These prices go into effect July 1st, 2016. ***
